Bosch opens new production building in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua

Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. –Bosch Mexico officially opened a new building at its existing site in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, on February 9, 2016 in the presence of the Minister of Economy, Manuel Russek, and the Mayor of Ciudad Juarez, Javier González. The leading global supplier of technology and services invested approximately 160 million dollars (USD) in the expansion of its Ciudad Juarez plants with the support of the state of Chihuahua as part of the company’s advanced manufacturing strategy in the country.

The expansion with a new building of approximately 20,000 square meters is part of the investment announced in 2013. The new building will be outfitted with state-of-the-art technology, leading to an increase in production capacity which will allow the company to meet growing demand for new automotive products. The new products include ultrasonic sensors, airbag modules, and power windows modules among others for markets in the Americas.

“This opening is very important to Bosch, as well as deepen the value added and reinforce the efficiency and competitiveness of the plant, it also lets us expand employment opportunities in the community and attracts new talent to the company by offering high opportunities for development and growth, in addition to being a high-tech company it provides continuous learning,” said René Schlegel, CEO of Robert Bosch Mexico

Bosch presence in Mexico

Bosch has maintained a strong industrial presence in the municipality of Ciudad Juarez for over 20 years. Over 3,000 associates work at the site, manufacturing products for the automotive industry for both original equipment and aftermarket solutions.
